Master Series Asia: India Open Qualifiers Recap & Group Stage Draw

Ingage recently concluded the India Open Qualifiers for the Master Series Asia, setting the stage for an exciting tournament season in the region. As outlined in our previous article, Asia is divided into two key regions for the competition: India and APAC. This report delves into the highlights of the Indian leg of the qualifiers and the subsequent group stage draw.

India Open Qualifiers Overview

The India Open Qualifiers saw an enthusiastic response, with 28 teams signing up to compete for a spot in the Master Series group stage. The format followed a double-elimination structure, with the following rules:

• Winners Bracket: Best-of-three series
  
  

• Losers Bracket: Best-of-one, except for the Losers Finals (Best-of-three)
  
  

• Grand Finals: Best-of-five series
  
  

Among the participating teams were notable contenders like QRS, Matka Believers, Zenigame Squad, and Terminator X.

Key Performances and Upsets

Terminator X dominated the Winners Bracket, delivering commanding performances and defeating strong opponents such as X-Men and Orange Flag. Meanwhile, Zenigame Squad made a spirited run through the bracket, only to fall short against Team QRS.

Matka Believers (MTB) initially dropped to the Losers Bracket after a close match against Terminator X, but they mounted an impressive comeback. After defeating Orange Flag in the Losers Finals, MTB advanced to the Grand Finals for a rematch against Terminator X.

In a thrilling best-of-five series, Matka Believers emerged victorious, claiming the top spot in the India Open Qualifiers.

The top 15 teams from the qualifiers have earned their place in the Master Series Group Stage. They are as follows:

Each group will contain one team from each pot. Each pot was placed in a Spin Wheel and according to that whoever was first went to Group A, whoever came 2nd was placed in Group B, 3rd Place in Group C and the remaining team in Group D

The top two teams from each group will advance to the Top 8 Double Elimination Playoffs, bringing them one step closer to securing a spot in the Master Series Asia Finals.
