Asia Champions League 2025: Kicking Off with Intense Competition

The Asia Champions League (ACL) 2025 commenced this weekend, featuring high-level Pokémon Unite competition across three regions: ACL Japan League, India League, and SEA League. Organized by The Pokémon Company International, this franchised league invites 8-10 top teams, each backed by prominent organizations, to battle for regional supremacy and qualification to the grand ACL Finals.

ACL Japan League Overview

The ACL Japan League boasts a roster of eight invited teams, including:

  • Fennel

  • Zeta Division

  • Reject

  • Axiz

  • Nagoya Oja

  • Yoshimoto Gaming

  • Sengoku Gaming

  • Insomnia

Tournament Format

  • Circuit Dates: November 16, 17, 30; December 14, 15; January 11, 25

  • Daily Structure:
    Each circuit day features a Single-Elimination Bracket where matchups for Round 1 are drawn randomly.

  • Point System: Teams earn points based on their daily placements:

    • 1st: 20 points

    • 2nd: 15 points

    • 3rd: 12 points

    • 4th: 10 points

    • 5th: 8 points

    • 6th: 6 points

    • 7th: 4 points

    • 8th: 3 points

After seven circuit days, teams are seeded into a Double-Elimination Bracket based on their points. The Top 4 teams from the Japan League qualify for the ACL Finals.


Day 1: November 16

Day 1 began with exciting matchups, particularly the clash of Japan's top two teams, Fennel and Zeta Division.

Round 1 Results:

  • Fennel vs. Zeta Division: Fennel, the reigning World Champions (2024), dominated with a clean sweep.

  • Sengoku Gaming vs. Nagoya Oja: Sengoku triumphed 2-0.

  • Reject vs. Yoshimoto Gaming: Reject cruised to a 2-0 win.

  • Axiz vs. Insomnia: Axiz edged out Insomnia in a thrilling Game 3.

Round 2 Results:

  • Fennel defeated Sengoku Gaming in a fierce rivalry match between former teammates Ton GG and Mame.

  • Axiz upset Reject in tightly contested games.

Final Matches:

  • 3rd/4th Place Match: Reject outperformed Sengoku Gaming.

  • Grand Finals: Fennel showcased their dominance, sweeping Axiz 2-0 to claim the top spot.

Day 2: November 17

The action resumed with another day of intense battles.

Round 1 Results:

  • Axiz rebounded from their Day 1 loss to overcome Nagoya Oja 2-1.

  • Fennel faced a spirited challenge from Yoshimoto Gaming but secured a 2-1 victory.

  • Zeta Division defeated Reject 2-1 after a shaky start.

  • Insomnia delivered a strong performance to take down Sengoku Gaming.

Semi-Finals:

  • Fennel continued their dominance, sweeping Axiz 2-0.

  • Zeta Division edged out Insomnia in a nail-biting Game 3.

Final Matches:

  • 3rd/4th Place Match: Insomnia triumphed over Axiz 2-1.

  • Grand Finals: Fennel and Zeta Division clashed in a thrilling showdown. Fennel took Game 1, Zeta bounced back to take Game 2, but Fennel sealed the series with a decisive Game 3 victory.

Day 2 Standings:

  1. Fennel

  3. Insomnia

  4. Axiz


Day 3: November 30

The action resumed with another day of intense battles.

Round 1 Results:

  • Yoshimoto took over Sengoku Gaming in a close Game 3!

  • FENNEL the world Champions who never lost anything after the PJCS, lost to Insomnia! A Big Shock to the entire world!

  • Zeta Division, 2nd best team from Japan got defeated by AXIZ 2-1

  • Reject won against Nagoya Oja in a close Game 3.

Semi-Finals:

  • Reject dominated over Yoshimoto

  • AXIZ defeated the team who defeated Fennel in a close Game 3

Final Matches:

  • 3rd/4th Place Match: Insomnia got defeated by Yoshimoto 2-1

  • Grand Finals:Grand Finals was a really good match, giving viewers the best experience! AXIZ shocked everyone and defeated the 3rd best team in Japan Reject and became the Day 3 champions!.

Post Day 3 Standings!

Day 4: December 14

Week 3rd of the Japan League took place after 2 weeks on 30 November. There was only a patch on the 4th of December where Pokemons like; Tsareena, Buzzwole, Inteleon, Decidueye, Cramorant, Chandelure, Dodrio, Talonflame, Scyther, Clefable, Sableye, Delphox, Metagross, Armarouge got buffed while Pokemons like Leafeon, Sylveon, Crustle, Tyranitar, Duraludon (?), Wigglytuff, Venusaur, Machamp, Absol, Mr. Mime, Garchomp, Umbreon, Blaziken, Psyduck, Darkrai, Charizard got Nerfed and it affected the META Game a lot.

Round 1 Results:

  • Reject defeated AXIZ 2-0

  • Nagoya Oja defeated the 2nd Seed ZETA Division 2-0

  • Insomnia defeated Yoshimoto Gaming 2-1 in a close game 3

  • FENNEL went against Sengoku Gaming and they defeated SG 2-0

Semi-Finals Results:

  • Reject got defeated by Nagoya Oja 2-0

  • Insomnia did it again, they defeated FENNEL once again 2-1 and no-one saw it coming, it was rather another shock as similar happened 2 weeks ago on 30th November

Final Matches:

  • 3rd Place Match took place between Fennel and Reject but Fennel defeated Reject 2-1

  • The Grand Finals took place between Nagoya Oja and Insomnia, these teams made it to Grand Finals for the first time in the league. Insomnia won 2-1 in a close game 3

Day 4 Standings:

  1. Insomnia

  2. Nagoya Oja

  3. Fennel

  4. Reject

Day 4: December 15

The League continued on the 2nd day of 3rd week

Round 1 Results:

  • Insomnia defeated Nagoya Oja 2-1 in a close game 3

  • AXIZ got defeated by Sengoku Gaming 2-0

  • ZETA Division got defeated by Yoshimoto Gaming 2-0

  • Fennel defeated Team Reject 2-1 in a close game 3

Semi-Finals Results:

  • Sengoku Gaming defeated Insomnia 2-0

  • FENNEL defeated Yoshimoto Gaming 2-1 in a close game 3

Final Matches:

  • 3rd Place Match took place between Insomnia & Yoshimoto Gaming and defeated them 2-0

  • The Grand Finals took place between FENNEL and Sengoku Gaming, Fennel had records of defeating Sengoku in this league and the same happened here, Fennel won 2-0

Day 5 Standings:

  1. Fennel

  2. Sengoku Gaming

  3. Insomnia

  4. Yoshimoto Gaming

The last two days of the Japan League will take place on January 11th & 25th January! It will be exciting to see the final seeding for the double elimination bracket
